What is INTRAcel?
INTRAcel Fractional RF micro-needling is US FDA-cleared non-surgical device that combines micro-needling with radio frequency (RF) to ramp up collagen production as a means of treating skin laxity, wrinkles, pitted acne scars, enlarged pores, and stretch marks. The tiny insulated needles penetrate the skin at a defined depth without damaging the top layer of the skin, to stimulate the production of collagen and elastin. This helps to reduce acne scars, minimize pores and wrinkles and tighten skin for overall rejuvenation.
How does INTRAcel work?
INTRAcel combines three treatments in one: radio frequency, micro-needling and fractional treatment. The insulated micro-needles create microscopic wounds when in contact with the skin. The needles are insulated except for 0.3mm of the tip where radio frequency is emitted only to the target area, without damaging the surface of the skin. The body reacts by kickstarting its healing process, re-modelling collagen for new, healthier and stronger skin in the treated areas and the surrounding skin.
INTRAcel can be used to treat the skin at various depths, delivering customized energy according to the patient’s skin concerns and different regions of the face.
What can INTRAcel treat?
INTRAcel is used to eradicate acne and acne scars, shrink pores, improve skin texture, tighten loose and saggy skin and diminish fine lines and wrinkles.
How many sessions are needed?
The number of INTRAcel treatment sessions needed to achieve optimal results will vary amongst patients. We typically recommend about three treatment sessions at one-month intervals. Results will appear gradually and are most noticeable at about six months.
Is there any downtime or side effects?
Patients may experience redness in the treated area and mild swelling may occur due to the insertion of the micro-needle. These will subside in a few days.
